Overview
What is Village seva (SSSVIP)?
The Sri Sathya Sai Village Integrated Programme (SSSVIP) is a holistic Grama Seva model that works on a village's economic and social development, with the family as the unit of the village. On Sarvajit Ugadi in 2007, Bhagawan called it the “Jewel in the Crown”.
In tribal areas the same seva runs under the Sri Sathya Sai Tribal Development Programme: an area is first surveyed to understand its needs, then education, health, sanitation, agriculture and spiritual care are taken up together, while preserving tribal culture.
Individual care
Essentials such as food and clothing, and career counselling.
Education care
Bal Vikas for children and literacy for adults.
Medical care
Assessing each person's health and providing sustained health services.
Socio care
Inclusion, health, hygiene and sanitation work.
Spiritual care
Bhajans, parayanams and gramotsavs that strengthen the village's cultural fabric.
Employment and agri care
Skills training matched to local needs, and training farmers in organic farming.
