The Eternal Charioteer

Sanathana Sarathi

The monthly spiritual magazine Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba started in 1958, and wrote for Himself for 26 years.

What is Sanathana Sarathi?

Sanathana Sarathi is Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's monthly spiritual magazine, started on the holy day of Maha Shivaratri in 1958 and published from Prasanthi Nilayam.

‘Sanathana’ means eternal, the timeless one; ‘Sarathi’ means charioteer. The name carries its message: recognise God as the charioteer of your life and follow His direction wholeheartedly.

For 26 years, from 1958 to 1984, Swami wrote for the magazine every month. These essays were later gathered as the 15 Vahinis, which have been translated into many Indian and foreign languages.

“May this ‘Charioteer’ fight for world prosperity, by making the drum of victory sound and resound, spread joy among all mankind.”
